ICAR-CIFE licensed the technology of energy efficient and solar based model of Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS)
02 May 2024, Mumbai: ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai licensed the technology of energy efficient solar powered Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) named CIFE-MOTIRAS to Perception Associates, Ranchi, Jharkhand today.
The MoU for licensing the technology was signed by Dr. C. N. Ravishankar, Director, ICAR-CIFE and Mr. Akshat Mishra, Co-owner, Perception Associates
The prototypes of RAS are in two versions: fully automated and semi-automated with unique features such as sludge sink and solid removal reducing the load on drum filter. A microbial consortium is an integral part of the system that ensures an effective nitrogen management in the system. The volume of circulation ranges from 4-6 times per day depending upon the stocking density..
The inventor of the technology Dr. Aklakur , Dr. S. Jahageerdar, Nodal officer , Motipur Centre , Dr. S.P.Shukla, In charge, ITMU were also present during the signing of MoU.
The technology was licensed in non-exclusive mode for a period of five years with a licensing fee and a fixed royalty on the selling price.
