ABMD Programme for Prospective CEOs of FPOs in Maharashtra
01 May 2024, Hyderabad: A 50-day Agribusiness Management Development Programme for prospective CEOs of FPOs in Maharashtra was organised at ICAR- National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mumbai, today. The programme aims to enhance the leadership of the agricultural sector, particularly in FPOs, by grooming potential CEOs.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD, Mumbai, highlighted the importance of technology in transforming agriculture by enhancing production and ensuring sustainability. He also spoke about the Plate-to-plough principle, a strategic approach based on market insights. Dr. Sood released the a-IDEA newsletter and awarded certificates to the participants.
Guest of Honour, Smt. Rashmi S. Darad, Chief General Manager, MHRO, NABARD, Pune, stated that the CEOs in FPOs play an essential part in strengthening their income and advancing sustainable development.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM & President, a-IDEA highlighted the importance of knowledge dissemination and capacity building in harnessing the potential of technology for agricultural growth. He also emphasised the importance of FPOs in understanding the ecosystem knowledge & developing business plans for groups.
A total of 150 participants attended the programme.
