The meeting was attended by members of the Rice and Cotton Professional Committee of the National Crop Variety Approval Committee, the host of the national uniform test of rice and cotton varieties and the person in charge of the identification and testing unit, and the person in charge of the rice and cotton variety tests of the seed management departments of the relevant provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). .
In accordance with the national rice and cotton variety approval standards, the meeting reviewed the opinions on the handling of the varieties participating in the test in 2023. In the unified trial of rice, a total of 96 varieties entered the second year of regional trials and 75 varieties entered production trials; in the unified trials of cotton, a total of 64 varieties entered the second year of regional trials and 29 varieties entered production trials. The meeting also reviewed the variety results of 132 rice consortiums and 12 cotton consortia trials implemented in 2023.
The meeting studied relevant matters such as the optimization of the national unified test plots for rice and cotton varieties and the adjustment of control varieties, formed annual meeting resolutions, and carried out key tasks such as national rice and cotton variety trials in 2024 and the display and evaluation of new varieties.
