Workshop on Annual Action Plan for KVKs of Arunachal Pradesh

27 April 2024, Pasighat: ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone VI, Guwahati in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, East Siang, and College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU, Pasighat, organised a workshop on the Annual Action Plan for KVKs of Arunachal Pradesh.

The workshop aimed to refine the Annual Action Plan for 17 KVKs in Arunachal Pradesh, focusing on directly benefiting the farming community and validating and tailoring technologies to suit the unique needs of each district, involving key stakeholders.

Dr. Kadirvel Govindasamy, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati, emphasised the importance of establishing proper demonstration units in respective areas before implementing field trials. Dr. Govindasamy urged the scientists to leverage cutting-edge technologies such as precision farming, artificial intelligence, and drone technology to support farmers effectively.

Shri. Nawang Lobsang, Director, Dept. of Horticulture, Govt. Arunachal Pradesh, Shri. Dani Yubbe, Joint Director, Agriculture, Govt. Arunachal Pradesh, Shri. Tana Teti, Deputy Director, Plant Protection, Dept. of Agriculture, Govt. Arunachal Pradesh, Shri. Mark Boje, Deputy Director, Marketing, Dept. of Agriculture, Govt. Arunachal Pradesh, and Ms. Barbie Taggu, Agriculture Development Officer, Dept. of Agriculture, Govt. Arunachal Pradesh were also present during the programme.

The event featured a symbolic Jubilee Torch rally initiated by ICAR-KVK East Siang.
