Training On Seed Production Concludes At KVK,ROPAR

25 January 2021, Punjab, IN: A five-day training programme on ‘Seed production technologies for Rabi crops’ organized by KrishiVigyan Kendra, Ropar under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, PAU, Ludhiana concluded today on January 22, 2021. The training was organized under the guidance of Dr. G.S.Makkar, Deputy Director (Trg.), KVK, Ropar in which 12 farmers/ farm women/ students of the district participated.

During the inaugural session, Dr. Makkar extended a warm welcome to the trainees and discussed with them the importance of seed production technologies in agriculture. He also briefed about the different seed production and grading facilities available with the KVK, Ropar for quality seed production and motivated the trainees to adopt it as an enterprise for their self-employment.

Dr.Opinder Singh Sandhu, Assistant Professor (Soil Science)&course coordinator informed that trainees were imparted knowledge on seed production techniques in wheat, lentil, chickpea &berseem crops, grading of seed, seed certification and marketing aspects. Relevant literature on seed production was also distributed among the trainees.
