Farmers deprived of Kharif 2019 crop insurance due to wrong entry by banks

15 January 2022, Shajapur: With numerous complaints regarding holding up of payments for crop insurance, the district collector Shajapur, Dinesh Jain along with additional collector Manjusha Vikrant Rai conducted a grievance redressal meeting. Farmers of the districts complained about the due payments of Kharif 2019 season under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana (PMFBY).

The payments are on hold due to incorrect data entry by the local bank branch on PMFBY portal. Banks include Bank of India – Branch Kalapipal, Punjab National Bank – Branch Khonkarakala, Syndicate Bank – Branch Arniyakalan. Concluding the meeting, the collector directed the banks to make the payments and not to keep the farmers waiting for payments for the Kharif season of 2019.
