CSKHPAU gets Best Performance Excellence Award for its Farmer FIRST Program

04 December 2023, New Delhi‘Farmer FIRST Centre’ of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University has been awarded ‘Best Performance Excellence Award’ by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Disclosing this here today, Dr D.K.Vatsa, Vice-Chancellor told that during the ‘National Review Workshop of the Farmer FIRST Programme’, which concluded yesterday, the award to the university was presented for its best performance amongst all the centres in Zone I comprising the States of H.P., J&K, Punjab and Uttrakhand.

He told that the award-winning University centre has been instrumental in implementing innovative strategies and sustainable agricultural practices, making a substantial impact on the livelihoods of farmers of Dharer Panchayat in the Baijnath block of Kangra district. The ‘Farmer FIRST Programme’ is a crucial initiative aimed at empowering farmers through knowledge exchange, innovative practices, and sustainable agricultural interventions.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated Dr.Desh Raj Chaudhary, Principal Investigator and his team of scientists comprising Drs Pawan Kumar Sharma, Luv Bhushan, S.S.Rana,Parvesh Kumar, Krisheneder Dinesh, Ankaj Thakur, Anupama Sandal and Rajesh Thakur and training associate Shri Saniv Parmar who have been able to address the needs of farmers and enabling them to enhance their income by effectively implementing the ‘Farmer FIRST Programme’
