03 August 2023, AU: The Elders Western Australia team recently held their annual Supreme Clip of the Sale Awards, recognising outstanding wool clients.

Supreme Clip of the Sale is awarded to growers whose wool is selected as best in the Elders catalogue at each of the 43 wool sales of the 2022/23 season.

The evening was an opportunity for the winning growers to celebrate their achievements, alongside their Elders district wool manager, classers, and industry leaders. The team saw a great turn out, with 160 guests gathering at the Tradewinds Hotel in East Fremantle.

The Elders team also took the opportunity to share the latest progress on the new wool handling facility at Rockingham, which has recently commenced operations. Part of a $25 million investment in the sector, the new Rockingham centre will deliver state of the art systems and equipment, designed to offer industry-leading innovations and improve traceability and sustainability outcomes within the wool supply chain. It will bring clients a full end-to-end service, providing a quick and easy delivery experience from the farm gate.

Guest speaker Holly Ludeman, who is a veterinarian, corporate governance and compliance officer and managing director of The Livestock Collective, spoke about the current state of the sheep and wool industry, praising Elders’ recent investments.

“The sheep and wool industry is facing challenging times, but seeing investments like Elders’ wool handling centre are a reminder to focus on the medium to long-term,” Holly said on the night.

After the speeches and awards presentation, Elders staff members took to the stage for a fashion parade, showcasing the latest Merino wool styles from local store Williams Woolshed.
