Agroforestry in the central highlands of Viet Nam Project Launch

22 June 2023, VN: On June 20, in Dong Nai province, a ceremony to announce the strategic partnership agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Nestlé Vietnam and Agroforestry in the central highlands of Viet Nam Project Launch.

According to the memorandum of cooperation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Nestlé Vietnam will work together to promote and share regenerative agricultural practices, low-emission agriculture, and climate change response; promote technology transfer, research, development, and digital transformation; promote multi-party cooperation.

On the same day, Nestlé Vietnam officially kicked off the project “Agroforestry in the central highlands of Viet Nam”, aiming to plant more than 2.3 million trees by 2027. The project aims to contribute to bringing economic and environmental value to coffee growers.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quoc Tri highly appreciated Nestlé Vietnam’s initiative to coordinate with project implementation partners, contributing to Vietnam’s program of planting 1 billion trees. This project also shows the effective cooperation of public-private investment in developing ecological, low-emission, and sustainable agriculture, as well as in the demonstration of corporate social responsibility.
