9th Meeting of China-Russia Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee Held
31 August 2022, China: Vice Minister Ma Youxiang co-chaired the 9th meeting of the China-Russia Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Russia Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting Committee with Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on Aug. 29, 2022.
During the meeting, the two sides had in-depth discussions and reached a broad consensus on agricultural trade, investment, S&T, access for agro-products and cooperation in the seed industry, etc.
Vice Minister Ma stated that agriculture features prominently in China-Russia cooperation. With the strong emphasis and support from presidents of both countries, sound progress has been made in the bilateral cooperation in all agricultural sectors with growing trade value of agro-products against headwinds, fruitful results of agricultural S&T exchanges and steady advance in the fishery cooperation mechanism. On this very note, China is willing to work with Russia to further practical cooperation on trade, investment and S&T in agriculture, so as to serve agricultural and rural development in respective countries.
Deputy Minister Levin noted that Russia attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with China, and is willing to work with China to consolidate existing cooperation and tap cooperative potential, so as to continuously boost agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
Relevant officials and executives attended the meeting, representing the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, COFCO Corporation and others.
