Outbreak of hairy caterpillar seen in soybean crop in Madhya Pradesh

20 July 2023, New Delhi: Indian Institute of Soybean Research – Indore has advised the farmers to protect the soybean crop from the outbreak of hairy caterpillar disease. 

Prevention of hairy caterpillar disease in soybean – 

In some districts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, reports of an outbreak of Bihar hairy caterpillars have been received. For its control, it is advisable to expel these caterpillars living in the herd from the field along with the plant at the initial stage and spray Lambda Cyhalothrin 04.90 % CS (300 ml/ha) or Indoxacarb 15.80 % EC (333 ml/ha) on the crop.
