Outbreak of fruit fly in bitter gourd crop

20 July 2023, New Delhi: The problems of the farmers are resolved through the Pusa WhatsApp Salah Segment program run by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Through this program, IARI (Pusa Sansthan) talks to the farmers and learns about their crop and agriculture-related problems and also gives their solutions to the farmers.

One such farmer from Uttar Pradesh, Veersingh ji, told the Institute about the problem of fruit rot in bitter gourd and asked for preventive measures. During the program, the institute has given the measures to prevent fruit fly disease as follows-

Protection from fruit fly disease in bitter gourd-

First of all, remove the affected plants from the field and destroy them. For chemical control, make a solution of 200 ml of Cypermethrin in 200 liters of water and spray it at the rate of 1 acre.
