31 March 2021, Punjab: Farmers were informed about the upcoming Virtual Kisan Mela during the PAU Live Programme today. Dr JS Mahal, Director of Extension Education, PAU, said that Kisan Melas are organised twice a year during March and September for Kharif and Rabi seasons, respectively. Due to pandemic, virtual melas are being organised, he said, while informing that the two-day Virtual Kisan Mela at Ludhiana is all set to be held on April 5 and 6. During the mela, videos of field demonstrations, farm machinery and latest agricultural recommendations will be uploaded on the website portal of Kisan Mela. Farmers, farm women and rural youth can participate by clicking login on the website, he added.
Mr Rajat Sharma shared the technical details for participation in Virtual Kisan Mela. Farmers can also attend mela on Facebook and YouTube, he said.
Dr Jaspal Singh, an entomology expert, dwelt upon the problem and management of swarming in honey bees.
Dr Inderpreet Kaur, Assistant Entomologist and Mr Ravindra Bhalooria, Skill Development Centre, explained the farm operations.
