Haryana Agriculture Minister directs department to undertake 2000 Fisheries Project

6 July 2020, Chandigarh: Minister of Agriculture, Haryana, Mr. Jai Prakash Dalal has directed departmental officers to undertake 2,000 more fisheries projects in the current financial year; give training to atleast 5,000 youth of the state at the district-level. He also directed to explore the opportunities to set up fisheries processing units and to set up an aquarium project in Gurugram.

The Minister instructed the officers that youth should be encouraged to set up maximum fishery projects in waterlogged areas and shrimp farming projects in saline water areas.

Mr. Dalal instructed the departmental officers to update the website, publish pamphlets and brochures with details of the latest projects, criteria and policies of the department. He also directed the officers to upload the details regarding the number of fisheries projects given to youths from year 2015 till now along with the figure of successful and failed projects and the subsidy granted on a portal.

He further directed the officers of the Fisheries Department to complete the target within the stipulated period and a meeting will be held to review the progress works of the given projects in the next one month subsequently.
