10 January 2021, Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, while launching scathing attack on Congress and Communist party leaders for misleading innocent farmers and provoking them to create chaos during ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ which was scheduled to be held at Karnal said that the public knows everything, farmers are sensible enough to understand that these party leaders have a major role to play in such incidents and now the said parties have been exposed. The public knows everything and the farmers are sensible and are our own brothers.

“Through such agitations, if these leaders think that they can achieve their vested interests, and then they are highly mistaken as people know their reality and soon will teach them a befitting lesson, said Mr. Manohar Lal while giving a stern warning to these leaders for instigating violence in today’s programme.

Mr. Manohar Lal, while addressing a Press Conference here today lashed heavily on Congress and Communist party leaders for misleading innocent farmers said that though Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, is leaving no stone unturned for doubling farmers income, but Congress and Communist Party are causing great damage to the farming community  by deceiving innocent farmers.

“New agriculture laws have been introduced for the benefit of farmers. If at any given point of time in the span of one year of the implementation of these laws, the farmers feel that they are facing losses due to these new agricultural laws then amendments can be made  thereafter,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that in a democracy everyone has right to expression of speech. However, if people are stopped from expressing their views, then it is certainly against the principles of democracy and the same thing has happened in today’s incident.

Urging the farmers to put forward their demands through a positive dialogue, the Chief Minister said that farmers should uphold their trust in the traditions of the country. Mr. Manohar Lal again reiterated that the Mandi system and procurement of crops on MSP will continue. Through these Agriculture Laws, farmers have been given an alternative to sell their crops outside the Mandis in case they can get prices higher than the MSP.

He said that Congress during their tenure had proposed to introduce these agriculture laws but, they did not have the courage to implement something new. Whenever BJP takes any new step for the public interest, then Congress always has problems and start provoking and misleading the general public by spreading rumours, said the Chief Minister.

Giving examples, of some historic decisions taken by BJP, Mr. Manohar Lal said that Congress had tried to mislead countrymen even on matters like abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Citizenship Amendment Act etc but the people instead of getting deceived, had infact praised the Central Government for its decisions.

Saying that people will not tolerate violation of provisions given by Dr BR Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said that even during the time of emergency, Congress tried to violate the provisions of the Constitution but people by giving their mandate against the Congress party, gave them a befitting reply.

He said that Congress leaders are daydreaming and are desperate to gain power but the reality is something else. The Chief Minister also cautioned Congress not to provoke innocent farmers.

Accusing the so called farmer leader, Gurnam Singh Chaduni for instigating the farmers to create ruckus in today’s ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’, Mr. Manohar Lal said that Gurnam Singh Chaduni is playing in the hands of Congressmen and Communists. He alleged that a day before this Mahapanchayat, a video of Chadhuni instigating farmers to ensure that the Kisan Mahapanchayat is not held in the village Kaimla of Karnal district was circulated in social media.

The Chief Minister said that he is the representative of the people and goes among them for the benefit of the community. He said that he knew that some people are opposing the said programme, on which the district administration had held discussions with some farmer leaders, in which the leaders had assured that they would only protest in a symbolic manner and will not violate law and order situation. However it is really unfortunate to see that how at the behest of the opposition, these leaders broke their promise, which is highly condemnable.

Mr. Manohar Lal said that before his arrival at today’s event, BJP leaders had explained advantages of agricultural laws to the people present at the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’. He said that the villagers were expecting announcements of development works of about Rs 100 crore by the Chief Minister today, for their village.

Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said that January 26 is a day of national pride for India and if some people will use that day to achieve their political ends then it will be a matter of shame.
