PAU to hold virtual food industry and craft mela
27 January 2021, Punjab,IN: The PAU Live Programme informed about the Virtual PAU Food Industry and Craft Mela, slated to be held on January 29 and 30. Giving details, Mr Rajat Sharma explained the process of participating in the mela. The main attraction of the mela will be department stalls, displays by Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Food Industry Business Incubation Centre and Skill Development Centre, food craft industry and business houses; learning about cooking, preserving foods and craft making; nutritional foods, etc.
Dr Sanjeev Chauhan, Head, department of Forestry and Natural Resources, discussed about sohanjana (moringa) tree and its health benefits.
Dr Jaspal Singh, an entomology expert, shed light on nutritional benefits of honey and its granulation.
Dr Swati Kapoor, an expert from Punjab Horticultural Postharvest Technology Centre, apprised the farmers of the activities of the centre. She said that the upcoming food and craft mela will hold an interactive session with successful entrepreneurs and organic food producers.
