New Herbicide Tolerant Paddy Variety Pusa Basmati 1985

13 July 2023, New Delhi: Paddy Variety Pusa Basmati 1985 is the first herbicide tolerant early maturing variety of Basmati rice. Average yield of this variety is 52 q/ha under irrigated transplanted conditions and 45.7 q/ha under dry direct seeded conditions. The variety matures in 115 days. 

It is suitable for Gl area states – Delhi, Punjab, and Western Uttar Pradesh
