Review Workshop of Seed Hub on Pulses

20 September 2022, New Delhi: ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jabalpur organized Review workshop of Seed Hub on Pulses at KVK Govindnagar, Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh today.

Chief guest, Dr. V. P. Chahal, Assistant Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR said Seed hub in pulses and oilseeds are very helpful in providing the quality seeds of latest to the farmers vis-à-vis source of income generation through enhancing productivity of their crops.

Chairman Prof. P. K. Bisen, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur appreciated the initiative of ICAR for the benefits of farming community.

Director, ATARI, Zone IX, Jabalpur, Dr. S. R. K. Singh emphasized that seed hub is being proven as vehicle for faster seed replacement and an effective means for seed extension especially in pulses and oilseeds. He also suggested for efficient use of revolving fund (RF) for sustaining the seed hub program.

Chairman KVK Govindnagar Shri Anil Agrawal opined that seed hub is being proven as boon for the farming community through enhancing their production and income.

Co-Secretary of BBSLN Govindnagar Shri Keshav Maheshwari, Director Extension Services and Dr. Sanjay Vaishampayan, Nodal officer along with all the distinguished Scientist and Head of Seed Hub programmes also graced the occasion.

All the participant of this workshop presented their progress on Seed Hub Program which was reviewed and suggested for proper dissemination and adaptation of technology.

Special session also conducted on the Natural Farming in which they discussed about challenges in natural farming and its importance for the betterment of human life.

KVKs were suggested for the production and dissemination of high yielding as well as biofortified new seed varieties to the farmers for enhancing their income which could support the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s aim of “Doubling Farmer’s Income”.
