ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur organizes “Virtual Zonal Review Meeting of Farmer FIRST Programme”

15 February 2022, New Delhi: The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan organized the “Virtual Zonal Review Meeting of Farmer FIRST Programme” on the Theme – “Integrating Technologies and Enriching Knowledge” today.

Dr. V.P. Chahal, ADG (Agricultural Extension), ICAR emphasised on involving the Research Institutes of ICAR and State Agricultural Universities selected under the Farmer FIRST Programme as part of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Scheme. Changing the mindsets of the farm families selected under the Programme and involving them as active partners in research mode – technologies selection, assessment and application for improving the livelihood security was also stressed by Dr. Chahal.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur briefed about the main objectives and concepts of the FFP being implemented, especially Farmer FIRST Programme in holistic manner, in participatory and convergence mode in the country. He accentuated on the Government of India’s initiative of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022 that has to be realized by the partners implementing FFP.

A total of 30 Principal Investigators and Co-Principal Investigators of FFP from Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan participated in the Meeting.
