06 September 2022, Punjab: Pakistan has been struggling with shortage of fruits and vegetables due to heavy floods across the country. The fruit and vegetables prices in Pakistan in the current condition have inreased by 500%.

In the last week, Pakistan had announced to approach India for import of fruits and vegatables to manage its local demand. Neighbouring countries like Iran and Afghanistan have been providing Pakistan with vegetables but the requirement is huge.

India may supply with necessary demand of vegetables and fruits to Pakistan through Wagah border route. Anticipating exports, the punjab government officials have been hinted to a possible hoarding. This will increase the prices of fruits and vegetables in the local Punjab markets.
