“Kisan Mela-cum-Agricultural Exhibition” organized
28 February 2022, Ranchi, India: The ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins & Gums, Ranchi, Jharkhand in association with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Khunti organized the two-day Kisan Mela-cum-Technology Exhibition from 26th to 27th February, 2022.
The Chief Guest, Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Ramesh Bais outlined the usefulness of the natural products for protecting the health and the environment. The Governor emphasized that the Lac can play an important role in enhancing the farmers’ income while protecting the forests.
The Guest of Honor, Shri Sanjay Seth, Member of Lok Sabha, Ranchi, Jharkhand underlined the important role played by the Lac cultivation in the climate change mitigation as farmers conserve the trees for income generation.
The Guest of Honor of the Valedictory Ceremony, Dr. Subhash Singh, Director, SAMETI, Jharkhand stressed on combining the traditional and scientific approach for realizing the vision of doubling the farmers’ income.
Earlier, delivering the welcome Address, Dr. K.K. Sharma, Director, ICAR-IINRG, Ranchi highlighted the Institute’s contributions in the research and development of the commodity.
Around 1,385 farmers participated in the Mela.
