“Post-flood Environmental Monitoring Camp” organized

14 July 2022, New Delhi: To create the awareness about environmental health among fishers and fish farmers, the ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Regional Centre, Guwahati, Assam organized the “Post-flood Environmental Monitoring Camp” at Charan Beel, Baksa District, Assam today.

Dr. B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore underlined the main objective of the programme.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone – VI, Guwahati and Dr. B.K. Bhattacharjya, Head, ICAR-CIFRI, Regional Centre, Guwahati interacted with the tribal fishers and other stakeholders about the flood conditions. The participants were apprised about the significance of the environment health management from fisheries perspective.

The programme registered participation by more than 50 Tribal Fish Farmers of the locality under the Dhulabari Charanpar Janajati Unnayan Samiti, Deulkuchi.
