Farmers, cattle owners will be given information about new techniques adopted in different areas

02 March 2023, Chandigarh: Agriculture and Animal Husbandry minister, Mr. JP Dalal said that a state-level Livestock Show would be organized at Charkhi Dadri from March 11 to 13. He gave this information while presiding over a review meeting regarding the preparations of the show with the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department.

Mr. J.P. Dalal said that the three-day state-level Livestock Exhibition will be as grand as the previous events. He said that the state government organizes livestock shows to encourage the farmers and cattle owners; by making them aware of the latest techniques.

The Agriculture Minister directed the officials for maximum publicity of the state-level livestock exhibition and to disseminate the information regarding the same to the people through hoardings, radio, SMS etc. He also instructed the officers to ensure adequate arrangements for farmers visiting the exhibition.

Directing the officials, the Agriculture Minister said that the farmers visiting the livestock show should be made aware of the new techniques being adopted in the areas related to the Agriculture Department, Horticulture and Fisheries Department by organizing exhibitions. Apart from this, information about schemes being run by various departments and new techniques and activities will also be provided to the farmers and livestock owners.

Best breeds of livestock to be showcased in exhibition

Mr. JP Dalal said that the state government is working with the aim of promoting and improving indigenous breeds as well as making the state a leader in milk production. He said that the best breeds of livestock would be showcased in the exhibition. “Also, stalls by various institutions and departments related to the animal husbandry sector will be set up in the exhibition for disseminating information to the farmers and cattle owners,” he added.

Commissioner and Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, Director General, Dr. B.S. Laura, along with other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
