21 February 2024, Chandigarh: Samyukta Kisan Morcha organized protest demonstrations at BJP offices today demanding the opening of all highways and link roads blocked by Haryana police. They also demanded the release of arrested persons, restoration of internet services, and ensure free movement of people, and activists belonging to various outfits of the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha.
SKM has claimed that such protest actions were organized on Wednesday in front of BJP offices across all districts of Haryana.
Sharing details of Rohtak, the All-India Kisan Sabha National Vice-President, Dr. Inderjit Singh divulged that the protesting farmers marched from Mansarovar Park up to the BJP district office which was guarded with barricades and heavy police deployment. Effigy of the BJP government was burnt down amidst slogan shouting denouncing the Chief Minister and Prime Minister for resorting to unwarranted measures imposed in the name of preventing Punjab farmers from going to New Delhi.
Addressing the protesting farmers, SKM leader Inderjit Singh accused the Modi and Khattar governments of their desperate attempts to demonize the entire farmer community in the people’s perception. He said that the tactics being adopted by the Centre were aimed at creating a division among the organizations fighting for the long pending issues including legal guarantee of procurement of all crops on MSP, withdrawal of Electricity Amendment bill, dismissal of Ajay Mishra Tenny for his role in Lakhimpur Khiri carnage and waiver of farm debts.
He also said that a meeting of the SKM National Co-ordination Committee and General body is scheduled to be held on 22 February to chalk out future course of action.
Com. Inderjit Singh shared that Sanyukta Kisan Morcha is committed to the basic issues of farmers like legal guarantee of all crops on MSP-based C-2+ 50%, electricity amendment bill, loan waiver, and other issues.
