16 February 2024, New Delhi: The protesting farmers of Punjab and Haryana tried to enter Delhi from Shambhu and Khanauri borders located in Punjab on the 13th of February. The clash between the farmers and the police force began mid-day and lasted for about 5 hours when the farmers tried to resist the force and remove barricades blocking the highways. Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarwan Singh Pandher told the media they will go to Delhi under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, the Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda told media, “I still believe that a solution can be worked out through dialogue. It is also important for farmers to understand that decisions regarding the laws that are being talked about cannot be taken so quickly.”

He further said, “We must keep all its aspects in mind. The leaders of the farmer union will also have to understand that normal life must not be disrupted, and citizens should not face problems. The problem will not be solved by creating problems for the citizens, the solution to the problem can only come through dialogue.”
