04 April 2021, New Delhi, IN: Farmers to block Western Peripheral Expressway (KMP) on 10th April 2021 for 24 hoursThe ongoing farmer protest at the Delhi border enters 130th Day today marking it as the longest farmer protest in the world history. The farmer body ’Samyukt Kisan Morcha’ a coalition of over forty Indian farmers’ union leading the protest has said that they would accept nothing less than revocation of the three farm bills passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. As of 31st March 2021, the farmers’ demands include special parliament session to repeal the farm laws, make minimum support price (MSP) and state procurement a legal right, implementation of the Swaminathan committee recommendations.

Since there has been no progress over their demands, the farmer body Samyukt Kisan Morcha has announced to block the Western Peripheral Expressway (KMP) on 10 April, 2021 for 24 hours. The expressway is a major route to move in and around western Delhi borders since the Sindhu and Tikri borders have been blocked by the protesters. The farmer body has also announced a Parliament March in the first fortnight of May 2021. The march will be completely peaceful. The farmers will march from protest sites to Parliament. The exact date will be announced in the coming days.
