01 April 2024, New Delhi: The guava wilt/ decline is caused by root-knot nematode and fungus. The affected plants become unproductive. Disease can be managed by soil application of Trichoderma harzianum or T. viride or Pseudomonas spp. or Bacillus spp. (25 g/ m2) alone or in combination with neem cake (200 g/m2) or vermicompost (500 g/ m2). Root-knot nematode-susceptible crops should not be grown in orchards.
