Advisory for Conversion of Guava Seedling Into a Variety Orchard

01 April 2024, New Delhi: Seedling plants of guava can be transformed into a variety Orchard. The existing trees are headed back after harvesting winter crop/during summer leaving the stump of well-distributed primary branches in all directions. Unnecessary, cris-cross, dead, infested and weak branches are thinned out.

New growth is encouraged through proper manure and fertilizer application and aftercare. Grafting on mature shoots is done during the next season (January-February or July-August). Scion sticks of improved guava varieties can be arranged from reliable sources.
