PM Modi to inaugurate 600 Model Fertilizer Retail One Stop Shop on 17th October
12 October 2022, New Delhi: 17th October will be an important day for the farming community in India. On this day, PM Modi will be inaugurating Agri-Startup Conclave and Kisan Sammelan 2022 at New Delhi. He will also be releasing the 12th instalment of PM-Kisan Scheme. The third big event of the day will be the inauguration of “Model Fertilizer Retail One Stop Shop”.
What is Model Fertilizer Retail One Stop Shop
Fertilizers are an important inputs for agriculture in India. Most of the fertilizer outlets are operated through dealer network of fertilizer companies. These shops do not stock all agri-inputs. Because of this, the farmers have to visit 2 to 3 shops to complete his purchase of agri inputs.
The existing agri retail shops will be modified into one stop shops for all the needs of the farmers. On these new “Model Fertilizer Retail One Stop Shops”, farmers will be able to purchase agri-inputs like seeds, fertilizer, agrochemicals, will get information on government schemes, can avail facility for soil testing, etc.
The government has planned to start with 600 Model Fertilizer Retail One Stop Shops to start with. This special model will be extended to more number of stores with time.
