More than 8 crore verified farmers received the 12th instalment of PM Kisan today
17 October 2022, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 at Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi today.
On the occasion, PM Modi released the 12th PM Kisan Samman Nidhi instalment of 16 thousand crore which was credited to more than 8 crore farmers in India and this was also the biggest event of direct bank transfer (DBT) in history in India.
Highlighting the transformational initiative of PM-KISAN, the Prime Minister remarked that PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is an example of how small farmers benefit from the use of modern technology. “Since the launch of this scheme, more than Rs 2 lakh crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers. For small farmers who are more than 85 percent of the country’s farmers, this is a huge support”, he said.
He further mentioned that, “With this instalment, the farmers can buy necessary seeds and other agri-inputs essential for them. The online bank transfer saves time and effort and the money directly gets credited into the farmers bank account.”
