8 crore verified farmers will receive 12th instalment of PM-KISAN on October 17
15 October 2022, New Delhi: 16,000 crore to farmers under the flagship scheme PM-KISAN of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare through Direct Benefit Transfer, on the first day of PM Kisan Samman Sammelan, 2022 at Pusa, IARI, New Delhi (17.10.2022) Will release the 12th instalment of an amount of Rs. This will be the largest ever event of direct bank transfer benefits to farmers in India.
This scheme was launched by Prime Minister on 24.02.2019. Under this scheme, the eligible farmer families are provided a benefit of Rs.6000/- per year in three equal instalments of Rs.2000/- at an interval of every four months. The benefits of this scheme are directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer mode using modern digital technology.
So far, eligible farmer families under PM-KISAN have received benefits of more than Rs 2 lakh crore in 11 instalments. Out of this, Rs 1.6 lakh crore has been transferred during the Covid pandemic. With the 12th instalment to be released by Prime Minister on 17.10.2022, a total amount of more than Rs. 2.16 lakh crore is expected to be transferred to the beneficiaries.
Since the launch of this path-breaking scheme, the scheme has achieved many milestones and has won accolades for transparent and seamless transfer of funds directly into the accounts of eligible farmers on a large scale. It is because of this scheme that the farmers of the country have been helped to easily manage their day to day expenses during the COVID pandemic.
