PAU’s agricultural engineers qualify prestigious gate examination

02 April 2022, Punjab: Ten students of Agricultural Engineering of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have brought glory to the College by qualifying the prestigious Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. Six students from the final year and four students from the third year of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology have qualified GATE 2022 with good All India Ranks (AIR). Ankit Singh Rajput and Amitoj Raj cracked it with AIR 56 and AIR 71, respectively. Amish Goyal (AIR 113), Kavin Puri (AIR 126), Gaganpreet Singh (AIR 164), Parneet Kaur (AIR 179), Mohak Nagpal (AIR 199), Khushi Dhiman (AIR 242), Nihal Asati (AIR 249) and Dhruv Bhandari (AIR 271) have qualified with respective ranks. The GATE examination is the gateway for engineering graduates to get admission into central institutes like IITs, ICT and NITIE with fellowships for their master’s degrees.

Dr Ashok Kumar, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, shared that the PAU agricultural engineers have been performing consistently for securing admissions in top ranked foreign universities including IITs and IIMs. Dr Kumar, who has also done his masters from IIT Kharagpur through GATE, appreciated the efforts made by Dr Gurveer Kaur for motivating the students for appearing for the GATE.

Dr Satish Kumar Gupta and Dr Vishal Bector of Training and Placement Committee of the College mentioned that the COAET has been specifically focusing on preparing the candidates to achieve their professional goals. The scientific temperament and maturity shown by the scholars in the prevailing circumstances are highly appreciated and a source of motivation for the budding engineers, they added.
