Inauguration of Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers

19 March 2024, Howrah: A one-year ‘Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers’ Programme’ was inaugurated at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Howrah, West Bengal today.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, emphasized the importance of the DAESI scheme in transforming active agricultural input dealers into Para-Extension Professionals and enhancing the Agricultural Extension System. Dr. Dey also highlighted that the DAESI programme will provide farmers with real-time scientific advice.

Prof. Pintoo Bandyopadhyay, DEE, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya urged the need for know-how for each input dealer while providing scientific advisory services to the farmers. He hoped that the course would enable the Inputs Dealers to serve the farmers better.

Dr. Barui, Head, KVK, Howrah, and Dr. Amitava Banerjee, Asst. DEE, BCKV, Assitant DA, Government of West Bengal were present during the inaugural programme.

A total of 40 Agri-Input Dealers attended the programme.
