NICRA-TDC Project launched at Cyclone-affected Samsernagar Village of Sundarbans of West Bengal

03 January 2022, New Delhi: The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata organized the Launching Programme of the “NICRA-TDC Project at Samsernagar Village of Sundarbans of West Bengal” today.

In his welcome address, Dr. N.J. Maitra, Deputy Director of Research, WBUAFS, shared his experience for proper functioning of the programme.

Dr. F.H. Rahman, Nodal Officer, NICRA-TDC Project highlighted main objectives of the Project. He also apprised the Villagers about the programme’s benefits for the overall livelihood improvement.

Dr. S.S. Singh, DEE, Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh underlined the participatory approach of women in agriculture. The various issues of innovative adaptation strategies for managing the agriculture of the coastal area were also stated by Dr. Rehman.

Around 100 farmers and farm women participated in the programme.
