World Food Prize Spreads Cheer at 10th Annual Holiday Open House

08 December 2023, IowaThe World Food Prize Foundation is pleased to announce their annual Holiday Open House tradition this year on Saturday, December 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic Norman E. Borlaug Hall of Laureates.

“The holiday season is a special time of year where all people can come together and rejoice,” said Ambassador Terry Branstad, President, World Food Prize Foundation. “I am looking forward to welcoming our community to the beautiful, historic Hall of Laureates to celebrate.” 

Visitors will be immersed in the sounds and spirit of the holiday season. The Grace Church Ensemble will perform traditional and popular holiday carols while guests enjoy Christmas cookies and fruit punch. There will be a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus with photo opportunities for the whole family. Docents will share the stories and impact of the World Food Prize Foundation and Iowans in food and agriculture.

The holiday season is also an important season of giving and joining together in the spirit of alleviating hunger. To help support our Des Moines community, guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation. Learn more about the most needed items here.
