Leaf Blight in Cotton (0-60 days): How to control seed-borne, soil-borne, and foliar diseases

10 July 2023, New Delhi: Central Institute for Cotton Research – Sirsa, Haryana has issued an advisory to the farmers to get higher yields of cotton crop. In this advice, cotton farmers have been told by the institute have been advised to protect 0-60 days crop from seed-borne, soil-borne diseases, and foliar diseases.

As per this advice, farmers should follow the recommended control practices for whitefly (carrier of leaf curl virus). 

Integrated management for cotton leaf curl disease: Salicylic acid (200 ppm) or buttermilk 5% or cow urine + calcium nitrate (6.6% + 0.5%) or mustard oil 3% at 15 days intervals from 30 days after sowing. Do 5 foliar sprays.
