05 July 2023, New Delhi: The first week of July is most suitable for sowing of soybean depending on the monsoon. Any further delay will reduce the amount of water availability for the soybean crop in rainfed conditions and will affect the ripening of pods and impact productivity. The Indian Institute of Soybean Research has advised soybean farmers to use early-maturing varieties. The institute has advised farmers to use early maturing varieties of soybean like JS-20-34, NRC 130, NRC 131, NRC-138 etc, on priority.
