05 July 2023, New Delhi: Soybean sowing starts from the first week of June with the onset of monsoon. About 70 percent of the farmers sow soybean by the first week of July. Farmers are advised by the Indian Institute of Soybean Research to increase seed rate and reduce row-to-row distance.

For late sowing of soybean, the distance of rows should be 30 cm while the normal and timely sowing of soybean is done at 45 cm. Apart from this, the farmers need to increase the seed rate to 90-100 kg/ha.
