CROP+ earns Biosolutions Innovation Award

Technology recognized for performance and sustainability.

28 August 2023, North Carolina: CROP+, a fertilizer biostimulant from Agricola Internazionale (Verdesian Life Sciences), was recently awarded the Biosolutions Innovation Award. The award was presented to Agricola President Michele Castellani during Macfrut, the International Fruit and Vegetable Fair, which was held in Italy in May. The event celebrates the innovations of natural products for the defense, nutrition and biostimulation of plants. CROP+ was recognized by the Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida.

CROP+ is a fertilizer with biostimulant action obtained from the multistage fermentation of plant extracts to which complexed micronutrients such as zinc, manganese and copper are added. Trials on yellow kiwi varieties have shown its effectiveness in increasing stomatal conductance, reducing plant stress caused by high and low temperatures, and reducing fruit drops. CROP+ was recognized for its effectiveness and its sustainability.

“We are extremely proud that our CROP+ technology is being recognized not just for its effectiveness, but also for its sustainability,” said Egemen Bengu, Business Development Manager for Verdesian Life Sciences’ EU & Africa. “There are tremendous agricultural innovations being made all over Europe and the entire world, and we are honored that CROP+ was recognized among them. We are in great company.”

The Biosolutions Innovation Award is just one more recent honor that speaks to Verdesian’s emerging global reach. In late April, the company was awarded The Global Leadership Award in Biostimulants and Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) Solutions at BioAg India in 2023, which was held in New Delhi. And Verdesian finished in the top three for a BioAg Innovator Award at the BioAgTech World Congress in Brazil in May for its soon-to-be-released Phree-uP Phosphorus efficiency technology.
