Horticulture New Zealand to host a series of roadshow events for growers

16 February 2024, New Zealand: Fruit and vegetable growers will get the opportunity to find out more about HortNZ’s advocacy work and support for the sector at a series of consultation meetings being held across the country.

Grower meetings will be held between February and March, starting in Lincoln, Canterbury on 21 February.

Chief executive Nadine Tunley says the HortNZ team is looking forward to sharing the organisation’s priorities for the year directly with growers and hearing their views and ideas.

“It is an opportunity for us to hear first-hand from growers how things are going for them and what support they need. We will be providing an update on our various programmes.

 “There will also be information on the renewal of our Commodity Levy Order where growers will get the chance to have their say on the future of HortNZ. Some product groups will also be present at our grower meetings, they will also be talking to growers and seeking support of their Commodity Order Levy renewals.”

HortNZ board chair Barry O’Neil is looking forward to good engagement and discussions with growers.

“We look forward to hearing from growers about what is going well, what can be improved and how. It’s an opportunity for growers to really understand the value HortNZ adds.”
