Absolute Foods raises $100 million from Sequoia Capital India, Alpha Wave Global, and Tiger Global Management

11 May 2022, New Delhi: Absolute Foods is a plant biotech company working in agriculture to sustainably improve agriculture performance around the world.

The firm spent 6 years intersecting phytology, microbiology, omics, molecular biology, epigenetics, and AI to build India’s largest microbial & biomolecule discovery optimization platform. 

In an announcement made by the firm last Thursday, the company said that it has raised $100 million in its first institutional round from Sequoia Capital India, Alpha Wave Global, and Tiger Global Management.

The company will use the funds to strengthen its core platforms viz. Bioscience research platform, Universal Farm OS, and Global Trade platform.

The company is also building the world’s largest precision farm network, democratising access to agriculture innovations, inputs, advisory & markets across its network. It claims to operate about 1 lakh acres with operations across 10 countries.

Founded in 2015, the startup raised its initial investment from Nadir Godrej, MD of Godrej Industries, Kamal Aggarwal, Promoter of Haldiram, and Kunal Shah of CRED.
