Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare visits KVK in Nagaur

12 May 2022, New Delhi: “The Krishi Vigyan Kendras should make efforts for the establishment of Green House and Rainwater Units on priority basis”, urged Mr. Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. Mr. Choudhary was on his visit to the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaur – I here today. During his visit, the Minister visited the various Demonstration Units including the Goatary, Poultry, Net House, Soil Testing Lab and Small Food Processing Units, etc.

While interacting with the farmers and the Members of Cluster Based Business Organisation (CBBO), he also emphasized on the formation and promotion of the Farmers’ Producers’ Organization (FPOs) to get real benefits of the production and value-added products on a sustainable basis.

Mr. C.R. Choudhary, Member of Parliament, Nagaur & Former Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution underlined the various Schemes of the Government of India for the farming community’s benefits, especially, Pradhan Mantri Sinchai Yojana, Sub-Mission of Agricultural Mechanisation and Soil Health Cards, etc.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan briefed about the progress and performance of the KVKs of Rajasthan that are situated in the Arid Region. He also apprised on the establishment of the Livestock based Units in the Arid region of Rajasthan for sustainable Rural Livelihood Security.

The DDM, NABARD; District Officials; Staff Members of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Nagaur – I and II, Barmer – II and along with more than 50 Farmers, Farm Women & Rural Youth were also present during the occasion.
