Mr Narendra Modi’s Vision Of Doubling The Income Of Farmers By 2022

27 January 2021, Chandigarh, IN:Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the present State Government is committed to realize Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling the income of farmers by 2022. He said that Haryana is the only State in the Country where nine crops are being procured on Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag on the occasion of 72th Republic Day at Panchkula on January 26.

He said that apart from wheat and rice, the State Government is also procuring other crops like bajra, cotton, maize, groundnuts, moong etc on MSP. He said that in order to compensate the loss of horticulture crops due to natural calamities, “Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana (MBBY) has been implemented in the State on the lines of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). 

The Chief Minister said that the present State Government has evolved a system under which farmers are being paid directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system and added that farmers in the State are satisfied with this new system. He said that Pashudhan Credit Card scheme has been started on the pattern of Kisan Credit Card scheme. Apart from this, Pashudhan Bima Yojana has also been started to provide insurance cover to the cattle rearers.

He said that the State Government has started Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal (MFMBP) to facilitate the purchase of all crops. On this portal, the farmers can fill the details of their crop sown and agriculture fields from the comforts of their home. By doing this, they would not have to make rounds of government offices and employees to either sell their produce or get compensation for crop damage and for getting financial assistance for seeds, manure, loans and agricultural implements, he added. 

He said that the State Government has also prepared an ambitious scheme for irrigation. In order to promote low water guzzling crops in place of paddy, ‘Mera Pani-Meri Virasat Yojana’ has been implemented. He said that special emphasis has been given on Micro irrigation schemes to ensure maximum irrigation with less water. It is a matter of satisfaction that farmers have sown crops other than paddy on 80,000 acres of land.

The Chief Minister said that on this day 71 years ago, we had the distinction of being the largest Republic in the world. He further said that it is the responsibility of all of us to obey the laws of our country.  He said that one has the freedom to speech but one should not use this freedom to abuse others. Also, one has the liberty to express but not to defame others. Similarly, people have the freedom to protest but not to spread anarchy, he said adding that people should be well within their limits while exercising their rights, he asserted.  

Among those present on the occasion included Chief Principal Secretary to  Chief Minister, Mr D.S Dhesi, Deputy Commissioner, Mr Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, DGP Crime Muhammad Akil, ADGP, CID, Mr Alok Mittal, Parade Commandant, Mr Gaurav Purohit, DIG, Law and Order, Mr Rakesh Arya, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Panchkula Mr Kulbhushan Goyal and other senior officers of civil and police administration.
