Chief Minister launches Uttam Beej Portal

The portal will provide good quality seeds to farmers and increase crop yield and income

31 October 2021, Chandigarh: Fulfilling the farmers expectations, Haryana  Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal launched “Uttam Beej Portal” today in Chandigarh. The portal will benefit lakhs of farmers of the State.

While launching the Uttam Beej Portal, the Chief Minister congratulated lakhs of farmers of the State also fulfilling their decade-old demand. Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State is producing 30-35 lakh quintals certified seed of Wheat and other crops. This portal will provide transparency in the seed production programme arranged by Government as well as private seed producing agencies and will ensure better quality of certified seed.

The State has taken one more step in doubling the income of farmers, he said. The Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Department Smt. Sumita Mishra, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Sh. V. Umashankar, Director General Agriculture Dr. Hardeep Singh and Managing Director, HSDC Sh. Sanjeev Verma and officers of other department were also present here.
