“Scheduled Caste Farmers Beneficiary Meet” organized

31 May 2022, New Delhi: The ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh organized the “Scheduled Caste Farmers Beneficiary Meet” today.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Anurag Sharma, Member of Parliament, Jhansi-Lalitpur Constituency stressed on the value-addition of the agricultural & dairy products and earning profit from their proper sale. The various Schemes for the social and economic development of the farmers of Bundelkhand Region were also underlined by Mr. Sharma.

The Special Guest, Mr. Shailesh Kumar, Chief Development Officer, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh emphasized on the coordination of R&D Organizations, FPO Groups and different Line Departments for the impact of advanced agricultural technologies in the field.

Dr. Amresh Chandra, Director, ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi stressed on the proper implementation of the different interventions of the Project leading to improvement in the livelihood of the adopted Villages.

Dr. Purushottam Sharma, Head (Social Science Division & Nodal Officer), Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Project, ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi briefed about the work and programmes of the SCSP Project.

The Meet aimed at demonstrating the Institute’s technology and distributing the improved agricultural technologies / interventions to the farmers of the Villages in Jhansi District – Khajaraha Bujurg, Khajaraha Khurd, Chamrau, Rampura and Mathurapura under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Project registered participation by 100 farmers.
