Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviews Public Works Department in Mantralaya

13 January 2024, New Delhi: Roads are the gateway to the development of the state. Road constructions in areas lead to residential and industrial development. Select cities considering the pace of development in the next 10 years and plan road construction by identifying areas with potential for future development. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr . Mohan Yadav was reviewing the Public Works Department in Mantralaya. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that the construction of road work should be of the highest quality. Ensure that the work is completed on time. Maintenance of roads and buildings are also essential for construction work.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to hire good agencies known for quality work. He told to create a stat- level online quality status dashboard for quality control and monitoring. Along with developing a quality lab, get third party quality audit done. A monitoring cell should be formed to monitor construction works costing more than Rs 50 lakh. He also told to study and take inspiration from the best practices of road construction of other countries and states. He told to discuss with huge organisations working in the field of infrastructure to aid good quality construction work.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told to follow revenue generation model while taking inspiration from construction organisations like NHI, which will help in defraying the cost of construction work and also generate additional revenue for the government. Similarly, include authority, urban bodies, tourism department, culture department etc. in activities like road construction, building construction and bridge construction etc. in the plan, while working on the concept of overall development. Take necessary suggestions from them and make a plan.

Public Works Minister Mr. Rakesh Singh, Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Principal Secretary Public Works Mr. Sukhveer Singh and concerned departmental officers were present in the meeting.
