26 June 2023, New Delhi: The PM-Kisan Mobile App with Face Authentication Feature was launched by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Farmers can now complete e-KYC remotely by scanning faces without OTP or fingerprint from their homes.

The Government of India has extended the ability of farmers to perform e-KYC to officers of state governments so that each officer can complete the e-KYC process for 500 farmers.

Union Agriculture Minister Tomar said, “PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a very comprehensive and ambitious scheme of the Government of India. The more refined this platform gets, the more it will be useful for any benefit that has to be given to the farmers as verified and complete data will be available to the Central and State Governments.

The government is working on a saturation drive so that the maximum number of eligible farmers can get the 14th installment of the scheme.

2.42 lakh crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 11 crore farmers, of whom more than 3 crore are women. PM Kisan Yojana proved to be a strong partner for the farmers even during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Now the difficulties related to Aadhaar verification and bank account details updation on the PM Kisan Portal have been resolved by the effective use of digital technology.

The new PM-Kisan app is available for download on the Google Play Store. The app provides information related to the scheme and the PM Kisan account of the farmers. Farmers can know the status of land seeding, and linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts and e-KYC. The department has also roped in India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) to open Aadhaar-linked bank accounts for beneficiaries at their doorstep and asked CSCs to organize village-level e-KYC camps with the help of States/UTs.
