“Facilities at ICAR-NIANP, Bengaluru” inaugurated

13 June 2022, New Delhi: Km. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare inaugurated the “Farmers’-cum-Students’ Hostel” and “Community Hall” at the ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bengaluru, Karnataka here today.

The Minister highlighted the significance of livestock in the livelihood security and rural economy. Complimenting the Institute’s achievements in the emerging challenges of the livestock sector, Km. Karandlaje urged the scientists for the technology transfer, greater coordination with the State Livestock & Allied Departments and capacity development of veterinary professionals to fulfil the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling the farmers’ income.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) highlighted the ICAR-NIANP’s achievements in making it an “Institute of Relevance” on the several emerging fronts. Dr. Mohapatra applauded the Institute’s team for developing the required infrastructure facilities, creating the state-of-the-art research facilities on climate change, publishing research articles in high impact journals and playing crucial roles in doubling the farmers’ income, etc.

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta, Director, ICAR-NIANP, Bengaluru highlighted the Institute’s vision, activities, achievements, publications, patents and commercialized technologies, etc.

The dignitaries also released the “Buffalo Bull Fertility Diagnostic Chip SpermXFert”, oral feed supplement for addressing transportation stress – “Herbal TransCare” and a bilingual (Hindi and Kannada) Publication on “Farmers’ Friendly Technologies” during the occasion.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru; Dr. S. Bhaskar, ADG (Agronomy, Agroforestry & Climate Change), ICAR; Dr Sudha Mysore, C.E.O., AgrInnovate Ltd., New Delhi along with the Directors and Heads of Bengaluru-based ICAR Institutes & Regional Stations and other Senior Officials of ICAR Institutes and CPWD also participated in the event.
