Twentieth China International Agricultural Trade Fair to Kick Off in Mid-November

07 November 2023, China: The 20th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF), co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Shandong Provincial People’s Government, will be held in Qingdao from Nov. 9–12. 

This year’s CATF aims to showcase the achievements in agricultural and rural development in the new era and boost quality-oriented and green agriculture through agro-industrialization. The fair will cover an exhibition area of around 120,000 square meters and host nearly 3,000 exhibitors. A forum on strengthening agriculture will be held on the fair’s opening day and discussions on “invigorating agriculture through agro-industrialization and boosting specialty industries”. A number of promotional events will also be held during the fair, including the release and promotion of agricultural achievements and the launch of some new China State Farm brands, among other activities. 

This year’s CATF will feature exhibition areas for grain and oil, fruit and vegetables, livestock and poultry, aquatic products, tea, and GI products, as well as State Farm, regional and international exhibition areas. In addition, a new exhibition area will be dedicated to agricultural and rural service sector. The fair aims to better connect farmers to the market and is expected to attract nearly 20,000 companies including large supermarket chains, e-commerce companies, agro-product wholesalers, retail chains, catering businesses, and other buyers, as well as industry professionals. The international exhibition area will incorporate an exhibition corridor showcasing achievements in international cooperation, an international meeting hall, and an international culinary street. A number of immersive promotional events will also be held such as the promotion of international specialty products, international procurement matchmaking, and discussions focused on international agriculture.
