Eighth Meeting of China-Russia Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee Convenes
02 November 2021, China: Ma Youxiang, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, and Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, co-chaired the eighth meeting of the China-Russia Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee of the Committee for Regular Meetings Between the Chinese and Russian Heads of Government via video conference on Oct. 28. China and Russia fully exchanged views on relevant issues and reached consensus on further deepening bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
Ma said that with the support and impetus of the leaders of both countries, China and Russia have enjoyed close cooperation in agriculture, achieved fruitful results, and experienced stable development in all fields of cooperation. Since the beginning of 2021, agro-trade between the two countries has maintained growth despite the COVID-19 pandemic. China hopes to further boost its cooperation with Russia in agro-trade, agricultural investment, prevention and control of animal and plant diseases, and agricultural S&T innovation, and constantly deepen China-Russia relations.
Levin said Russia attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with China, and is willing to work with China to firm up the existing foundation for cooperation, properly address each other’s concerns, and constantly raise the level of bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
